As you can see from the image above, the Chevalier Ballet Company will be presenting selections from A Dancer's Christmas at the Ailey Theater again this year. Maresa D'Amore Morrison and Steven Cornwall will be reprising the roles of Mary and Joseph. If you're in NYC, I'd love to see you there! Or if you have friends who live in NY, please let them know about it.

I'm happy to announce that Sara Knight's Chevalier Ballet Company will again be performing a showcase of dances from A Dancer's Christmas at the Ailey Theater in NY on December 9th and 10th. If you're in NY, I hope to see you there!

On December 3rd, the BLDE board is hosting a Reunion of Dancers and Friends who were part of A Dancer's Christmas and Christmas Reflections. If you were involved in either production and would like to come, please let me know at frvereec@bc.edu

At least, it was for me and countless dancers, children, families and all who made A Dancer's Christmas, Christmas Reflections, Christmas Revelations and A Dancer's Christmas 2018/19 a celebration of the season of Christmas. There was always so much joy, love, and heartfelt dedication that went into creating these performances. I am so grateful for the many, many people who shared the joy of the Christmas miracle over 40 years!

Since it's another year without a live performance of A Dancer's Christmas, I've added videos of many of the performances of ADC throughout the years. They are available on the A Dancer's Christmas, as well as the Christmas Repertoire pages. Here is a link to  some excerpts from the Chevalier Ballet's Company's performance at the Ailey Theater in 2018/2019, with guest artists Maresa D'Amore Morrision and Steven Cornwall as Mary and Joseph.

It's been a while since I've posted on this site. I've been too busy with my personal site robertvereecke.org. I've been blogging, writing poetry and posting photos from my sabbatical year. I'm now working at Eastern Point Retreat House. Who knows, maybe I'll create a dance retreat here as I did at the Cenacle more than 40 years ago! The past year has given me the opportunity to post many of the videos from A Dancer's Christmas and other works. They are all available for viewing on this site or my vimeo site. 

The good news is that Sara Knight will again be staging A Dancer's Christmas with her stunning company and talented students. Steven Cornwall and Maresa D'Amore Morrison will be reprising their roles as Joseph and Mary. And Joel Peterson is coming to NY to dance! I would be so grateful if you could share the information about the performance with anyone who loves Christmas and Dance in NY!

(It goes till next Sunday which is the feast of the Baptism. In that spirit I'm adding the videos of A Dancer's Christmas 2001 and 2003. This was the second choreographic iteration of A Lark Ascending in which I juxtaposed the birth of Jesus with the ministry. Carol Faherty danced the role of Mary at the time of the ministry and Cross. Dian Melley danced Mary at the birth. Jamie Huggins was the "Son of God" in the beginning and then Jesus in the Lark. There's a section with John the Baptist so I think the timing is perfect for this weekend! Note that in the 2001 version, the opening was quite different musically and choreographically than the 2003 version.
